Lithuanian Sea Museum is Going Back to Nature

Celebrating the World Environmental Day on June 5th the Dolphin Assisted Therapy Center of the Lithuanian Sea Museum is excited to announce that it will be hosting orienteering competitions with velomobiles, an event which will be captured for the international YGBN (Youth Going Back to Nature) video report. This initiative is not only about celebrating the global sports community event but also about encouraging a healthy lifestyle immersed in nature. The initiative is the way the European Outdoor Network is joining the World Environmental Day.

Participants in this event will not only have the thrilling opportunity to compete in the orienteering races using velomobiles but also engage in various team tasks. (amidst the great outdoors). This event will serve  as a wonderful opportunity for individuals who typically spend prolonged periods sitting in offices or indoors to break away from their routines and reconnect with nature.

In today’s fast-paced world, where many individuals find themselves confined to indoor spaces for extended periods due to work or other commitments, events like these provide a much-needed escape. Spending time outdoors has been shown to have numerous physical and mental health benefits, including reducing stress, boosting mood, and improving overall well-being.

Moreover, participating in outdoor activities fosters a sense of camaraderie and teamwork among participants, as they work together to navigate through orienteering challenges and complete tasks. It’s a chance to bond with friends and family while engaging in a fun and healthy activity that promotes physical fitness and mental relaxation.

By organizing orienteering competitions with velomobiles and highlighting the importance of spending time in nature, Specialists of the Dolphin Assisted Therapy Center of the Lithuanian Sea Museum hope to inspire individuals to prioritize their health and well-being by incorporating more outdoor activities into their lives.
